In the dynamic resurgence of Modernist Persian poetry in the 1990s and 2000s, poets embraced distinctive styles by critically and antithetically reexamining the Nimaic tradition through the lens of Forugh Farrokhzād’s poetry. This transformative trend significantly altered poets’ comprehension of both the content and formal aspects of modern poetry. This paper analyzes the experimental works of Ātefeh Chārmahāliān and Pegāh Ahmadi, exploring their use of Foroughic forms as alternatives to prevailing interpretations of Nimaic poetry theory. The analysis reveals how poetic experimentation served as a form of resistance against the cultural dominance of the high-modernist “poetic fathers” during this period.
