Golaleh Honari
Golaleh Honari earned her Ph.D. in Persian Language and Literature from Semnan University in 2019. Following her graduation, she taught courses such as “Bibliography and Research Methods,” “Academic Writing Workshop,” “History of Persian Literature,” “Prose Stylistics,” and “Modern Persian Poetry Workshop” at the same university from 2018 to 2021.
From 2018 to 2020, she worked as a manuscript reviewer on the project Letter Writing in the Mughal Era, under the supervision of Dr. Stephan Popp at the Academy of Iranian Studies in Vienna. Prior to that, she spent nine years (2009–2017) as a researcher, author, and editor at the Academy of Persian Language and Literature (Persian Language and Literature in the Indian Subcontinent Department) and the Great Islamic Encyclopedia (Editing and Publishing Department). For over a decade, Honari has contributed as an author to several encyclopedic projects, including the Great Islamic Encyclopedia, the Encyclopedia of Persian Language and Literature in the Indian Subcontinent, the Encyclopedia of Persian Literature, the Encyclopedia of the Islamic World, the Encyclopedia of Folk Culture, the Encyclopedia of Tehran, and the Lexicon of Iranian and World Women. Additionally, she has worked for more than ten years as a technical and academic editor for encyclopedias, academic journals, and various publishing houses.
Her primary research interests include modern Persian poetry, language and gender, feminist literary criticism, women’s studies, poetic stylistics, the philosophical and mystical heritage in Mughal India, music in the Indian subcontinent, and anthropological studies. To date, she has published seven books, including one authored monograph, one critical edition, one facsimile edition, two poetry collections, and two co-authored works. Additionally, she has published ten research articles and contributed over fifty encyclopedia entries.
