Alireza Rayat Hassanabadi
Alireza Rayat Hassanabadi is a poet, author, and literary critic, specializing in avant-garde Persian poetry. He holds a Ph.D. in Persian Language and Literature from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and has completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran. His doctoral dissertation, focused on analyzing the role of power institutions in the historical trajectory of the Poetry of Volume (shi‘r-i hajm) Manifesto. During his postdoctoral research, in collaboration with Dr. Hassan Zolfaghari, he studied folk Persian plays.
Rayat Hassanabadi serves as the director of the Future of Dreams (Ayandih Rawya) Research Group in Abbasabad, Damghan, and is a representative of the Persian Language Teaching Center for Non-Persian Speakers at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in the Damghan region. He has taught specialized courses in modern Persian poetry and has acted as an expert reviewer for leading academic journals, including Literary Criticism (Tarbiat Modarres University), New Literary Inquiries (Ferdowsi University of Mashhad), Bustan-i Adab (Shiraz University), and Contemporary Persian Literature (Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies). In addition to his literary expertise, he is proficient in applying statistical analysis in literary research.
His extensive research and publications cover diverse aspects of modern Persian poetry, stylistics, intertextuality, and discourse analysis. Among his numerous articles, notable works include “The Role of Media in the Historical Life of the Discourse of the Poetry of Volume,” published in Bustan-i Adab, and “Discourse Analysis of the Poetry of Volume and the Poetry of the Islamic Revolution,” published in Bustan-i Adab. His books include Understanding Volume Poetry (Rozgar Publications, 2024), Fractal Quatrain (Tajrubah-e Naw, 2012), and Volume-Oriented Poetry and Power (Khamush Publications, 2020).
