BIBLIOGRAPHY

Parvīn Iʿtisāmī

Parvīn Iʿtisāmī (1907-1941) is one of the most celebrated Persian poets of the twentieth century. Born in Tabriz, she was the daughter of Yūsif Iʿtisāmī (Iʿtisāmī al-Mulk Āshtiyānī), a member of parliament. She abided by classical conventions of prosody in her poetry and was one of the last poets of classical Persian literature. She engaged in social critique, including that of patriarchy and religious fanaticism, through her poetry.
