Parvīn Dawlatābādī (born Isfahan, February 10, 1924—died Tehran, April 15, 2008) was an Iranian poet. Dawlatābādī is heralded as a pioneer of children’s literature in Iran, though her writings also include literary criticism and poetry collections that are more suited for adult readers. Dawlatābādī is acclaimed for transforming the language of Iranian children’s poetry, and for reintroducing familiar elements, such as those of nature, in an appealing and original fashion.
