Maryam Haydarzādah (born Tehran, November 20, 1977) is an Iranian poet, songwriter, musician, and painter. Haydarzadāh is one of Iran’s most renowned poets and songwriters since the Islamic Revolution. The colloquial nature of her poetic idiom, the simplicity of her poetic diction, and her ability to express human sentiments through plain, everyday language resonated well with many Iranians, particularly in the 1990s and 2000s. Haydarzadāh has written songs for some of the most celebrated Iranian singers both inside and outside of Iran.
