Badrieh Ghavami

Badrieh Ghavami is Assistant Professor of Persian Language and Literature at the Islamic Azad University, Sanandaj Branch, Iran, and a Visiting Professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. She received her PhD in Persian Language and Literature from Kharazmi University, Tehran. She has published on various aspects of Persian literature, with a particular focus on modern fiction and poetry. In recent years, her research has turned to Kurdish literature, especially questions of cultural identity, women’s writing, and the connections between Kurdish and Persian literary traditions. She is currently working on the representation of identity in Kurdish novels and the role of women in contemporary fiction.
