Davood Emarati Moghadam

Davood Emarati-Moghaddam holds a PhD in Persian Language and Literature from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and is currently a faculty member at Neyshabur University. Since 2010, he has been teaching a range of courses—including Semantics and Rhetoric, Poetics, Modern Persian Poetry, and the History of Persian Literature—at Neyshabur University and other institutions, including Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. In addition to his academic teaching, he has held several administrative and scholarly positions. These include organizing the Eighth Conference on Literary Criticism and Theory in 2020 and coordinating the Fourth Festival and Eighth National Conference on Khayyam in May 2025.

He also served as the Head of the Khorasan Razavi Branch of the Iranian Literary Criticism Association from 2018 to 2021 and was the Assistant Editor of the Naqd-e Adabi (Journal of Literary Criticism) from 2018 to 2023. Since 2008, he has collaborated with numerous academic and non-academic journals and has published more than 25 scholarly articles—both original and translated—in various Iranian journals.

In 2016, his book Rhetoric: From Athens to Medina was published by Hermes Publishing and was awarded the Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Award in 2017. He has also received several other accolades, including two National Book Criticism Awards in 2017 and 2020. His current research focuses on classical and modern rhetoric, literary criticism and theory, and the literature of the Iranian Constitutional Revolution.
