Leila Kordbache
Leila Kordbache is a faculty member at the Academy of Persian Language and Literature and a scholar of contemporary Persian poetry. She holds a Ph.D. in Persian Language and Literature from Isfahan University, specializing in linguistic innovation and archaism in modern Persian poetry. Her research focuses on semiotic and syntactic analysis, particularly the works of Mahdi Akhavan-Salis, with major publications including The Historical Evolution of Akhavan-Salis’ Poetic Language and The Syntactic Structure of Contemporary Persian Poetry.
Kordbache has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, exploring topics such as lexical deviation, stylistic archaism, and syntactic shifts in contemporary Persian poetry. Her work appears in the International Journal of Education and Research, among others.
Beyond academia, she has contributed to Persian literary media as a journalist, editor, and radio scriptwriter. She has worked with Qods Newspaper, IBNA (Iran Book News Agency), and various academic journals, in addition to writing literary adaptations for radio programs.
An acclaimed poet, Kordbache has authored multiple award-winning poetry collections, including While Cload (Abr-i sifīd) The Rhinoceros’ Song (Āvāz-i kargadan). Her poetry, known for its modernist and evocative style, has earned her national literary honors, including the Fajr National Poetry Festival Award and the Parvin Iʿtisami National Poetry Prize.
She has also served as a judge for prestigious poetry competitions and has taught Persian literature at Tehran University and Isfahan University of Arts. Her current research examines linguistic transformation, gendered language, and cross-cultural influences in Persian poetry.
